Story
Dr. Zaf’s path into medicine began at age 10 after witnessing the compassionate care his sister received while battling brain cancer. This experience instilled the conviction that would become the philosophy of his practice — that high-quality healthcare is for everyone.
But it was unfortunately the experience of inadequate care after a knee injury from playing football that led him down the path of sports medicine. Dr. Zaf saw first-hand the long-term impact that poor diagnosis and treatment can have on an athlete and committed himself to providing the empathy and competence that was missing when he was a patient.
His professional football medicine career began in 2005 as the Club Doctor at Leyton Orient. He would then go on to lead the medical teams for some of the world’s most successful football teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
Today, Dr. Zaf is recognised for his role in modernising medical systems within Premier League clubs, shaping national sports medicine policy, and advancing athlete welfare across professional and community settings.
